ABOUT US
Compass was founded and registered in 2004 by Dr.Pastor Martin and his wife & a committee member. although not entirely active as their own entity they worked for other charities by using their skills to provide funding for them. This is where they gained inside knowledge of the mismanagement & abuse of people & funds.
After their son of four years old drowned in their pool they embarked on a journey to establish the vision God placed in their hearts. With no resources and a lot of faith Compass was birthed from a kitchen table in their home. Now Compass boasts an International status with five branches nationwide, assisting thousands of suffering communities and persons.
Compass is the abbreviation for COMMUNITY PROVISION & SOCIAL SERVICES and is registered with the bank, the Government,Sars & Seesa in both names. We are registered and recognized in terms of the Non-Profit act of 1977 through the Department of Social Development. Our registration with S.A.R.S. is a PBO(Public Beneficiary Organization)under section 18a-income tax act of 1962 for tax exemption. We are B.E.E. compliant through our registration with SEESA . All our decisions are committee based ,we run an open & accountable set of books through registered auditors & accounting officers. Our constitution is approved by and complies with the standards and laws set out by the Department of Social Welfare & Development . We are also registered with the International University of Dunimas in Texas which allows us as South African principles to train and educate people to levels of diplomacy and degree through sponsorship and bursary programmes. You can visit our Universities website on our contact us page.
Regarding our own in-house projects our main focus is two fold,(abused/abandoned children & women) and (training and education)-these two go hand in hand. Although we feed & shelter these persons we aim to nuture & intergrate them back into the socio-economic cycle as whole, independent and self sufficient human beings thus strengthening and benefiting that society, which in turn has a direct impact on our national stability & growth. We achieve this through a two year programme for our residents - you can find details of the programme on our services page.
Although we are Non-Denominational to our inmates application for residency ,our ministry run by the senior Pastor Dr. Martin provides all spiritual upliftment, direction & counsilling through Christ Family Ministries International only to those that want it. We believe that the whole person,(mind body & spirit), needs to be nutured back into society so that they don't fall prey to abusive situations & relationships again. Our television ministry which will start in mid 2010 will host all the charity work we do-we will post details as to the t.v. stations it will be aired on through out the year.

Dr. Martin's book the true nature of charity will be available early in July 2011-this book will reveal the truth about charities in South Africa.
Someone has to make a real difference and not just see charity as a vechile for personal gain, that's why we've developed the concept of charity through business where as a mediator we can offer valuable business services in return for much needed monetory input. On our services page we've provided valuable and innovative way's for business's to make a real difference by partnering with us.
