Compass brought together women leaders, activists, and community champions at its annual Women’s Day breakfast in Edenvale, celebrating collaboration, highlighting rescue initiatives for abandoned babies, and inspiring action for lasting social change.

Compass (Community Provision and Social Services) recently hosted its annual Women’s Day breakfast at Fahrenheit in Edenvale.
The event brought together a diverse group of women leaders, business owners, activists, and social workers for a morning of reflection, inspiration, and collaboration.
The programme was led by Compass Chairlady Cheryl Devraj, with an inspiring lineup of speakers including Pebetsi Nolo Matlaila (actress, radio presenter, author, and survivor), Sheryl Damerell (Edenvale CPF chairperson and TRE Practitioner), and Sue Krawitz (co-founder of Impilo Child Protection Services).
The morning was guided seamlessly by MC Fiona Pickett, ensuring an engaging and meaningful flow throughout the programme.
Guests included women making a difference across multiple sectors, from social welfare and education to business and community development.
Among those present were representatives from the RySky Foundation, Edenvale Child Welfare, Edenvale CPF, FinFloor, Mamba Security, Keakgona-Kefentse, Prosperous Souls, Tree of Hope, Mamba Red Bin Brigade, as well as social workers from Edenvale and Edenglen High Schools.
Activists, Compass sales consultants, and beneficiaries from Compass’ Safe Haven House were also in attendance.

One of the most moving initiatives highlighted during the event was Project Rescue Bags for abandoned babies, a collaboration between Compass and Impilo. Each rescue bag contains essential items to keep an abandoned baby alive, underscoring the urgent, life-saving work being done by these organisations.
The breakfast was more than just a celebration—it was a call to action. Attendees had the opportunity to network, collaborate, and share ideas to help drive meaningful change in their communities.

It also served as a reminder of the extraordinary dedication of women who devote their time, energy, and resources to protecting and uplifting the most vulnerable in society, particularly women and children with nowhere else to turn.
The annual breakfast once again proved to be a powerful platform for connection, inspiration, and empowerment – a true celebration of the spirit of women working together for a brighter future.
